Surya Bahadur Thapa
![]() Age: 80 Surya Bahadur Thapa was born on march 21, 1928. He has been the Prime Minister of Nepal five times, under three different kings, in a political career, spanning nearly 50 years. He served terms as Prime Minister from 1963 to 1964, 1965 to 1969, 1979 to 1983, 1997 to 1998 and 2003 to 2004. He was appointed Prime Minister for the fifth time by King Gyenendra on June 4, 2003. When the people's democratic movement forced the King to relinquish power in May 2007, Thapa resigned from his position. Thapa has a degree in Bacher of Arts from Allahbad University, India and an honorary Doctor of Literature from Kurukshetra University, India. |
