Upendra Yadav is the Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, an organisation that raised a movement, demanding Madhesi autonomy. He was formerly a member of CPN (MAOISTS) but quit the party after CPN-M leaders Suresh Ale Magar and Matrika Yadav were arrested in Delhi. Following several rounds of talks with the government, his party Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) will be participating in the upcoming CA election.
